Hellö!

I'm Basak KILICBEYLI, (Başak Kılıçbeyli; ba-SHAK kuh-LUHCH-bey-LEE), (she/her/hers), a visual artist & graphic designer from Istanbul, Turkey. I was born in 1992 in Moscow, Russia. I was a freelance designer for three years, and I hold a BFA degree in Graphic Design from Yeditepe University. I had worked for many non-profit projects and organizations in Turkey.

I lived in Montpellier, France, for 2 years and had a chance to travel around Europe. This experience has helped me to reinvent my skills and creative process.

I'm currently living, exploring, and creating in Philadelphia, PA. I got here in 2019 to pursue my art education. And, recently, I had my MFA degree in Studio Art from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA).

My work spectrum became relatively wide in the last few years. Besides logo design and branding, I do page/layout design, illustrations, relief/screen printing, and 2D animation. Lately, I began working with textile. I'm making large, small tufted rugs and embroidering on knitted pieces.
